U.S. Stock Markets Opened In A Big Disadvantage
On Friday, U.S. stock indexes opened with a decrease of more than 1% because of today's decision of China to tighten banks' reserve requirements. It was a complete surprise to the market and heightened concern about the possible effects of monetary tightening to global economic growth, prompting investors to flee from high-risk assets.
Index Dow Jones industrial average fell 123.19 pkt. or 1,21% to 10 021.00. Index Standard & Poor's 500 dropped to 11,83 pkt. or 1,10% to 1 066.64. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 22.18 pkt. or 1,02% to 2 155.23.
